Disable Automatic Defragmentation in Windows Vista

Windows Vista operating system has put on an "automatic" a lot of services to be launched from time to time. Many of them will help keep your computer to high performance, but often these services are run at inappropriate hours or sometimes when you need every resource of memory.
Just like that, windows Vista comes with an automatic disk defrag tool that is enabled by default.You can disable or modify this by performing the following steps: (Remember to run de-fragmentation manually at least once a month.)

Method 1:
  1. Click the “Start Orb”
  2. Click the Control Panel
  3. Click “System and Maintenance”
  4. Choose “Defragment your hard drive” under “Administrative Tools” (at the bottom of the menu/list).
  5. The defragmentation menu is shown as in the image below. You can simply uncheck the “Run on a schedule” box to disable it, or pres the “Modify schedule” button to pick a new time. 

Method 2: Quick Way:
1) Press the “Windows Button” on your keyboard, type “Disk Defrag” in the start menu search and press enter.
The defrag menu is shown as in the image above. You can simply uncheck the “Run on a schedule” box to disable it, or pres the “Modify schedule” button to pick a new time. 
Specifically, De-fragmentation  is set to run at 1am every Wednesday. Remember to run de-fragmentation manually once a month.
Method 3:
1. Click the Start button
2. Select Computer
3. Right-click on C: Drive icon
4. Select Properties
5. Click the Tools tab
6. Choose defragment now (You will see the same screen as in the first screen shot)
7. Uncheck Run on a schedule (or choose a different time under “Modify schedule”)
8. Now, Click OK to close disk de-fragmentation option
9. Click Ok to chose drive properties.
Now, you are done!
