Many Indian students want to study abroad paying through their nose in the process. At the same time students from across the world are filling university seats here for "cheap, professional and internationally ranked" Indian education. However, the quality of education is very poor in India according to a survey on quality of education conducted by 'Industry Body Association’. As per the above survey, India is in 6th Position (Dec - 2008) where only Indonesia is lagging behind among the 7 developing countries.
Although primary education is compulsory in India, still many were not educated to educate their kids. The enrollment ratio in primary education is least in India at 98.1. The highest ratio is in Brazil (148.5) followed by China (116.2) and Russia (113.8).India may stand to loose its competitive advantages against the other countries in long term if corrective measures are not taken to strengthen the Indian education system qualitatively,"
The analysis revealed that the primary education in India is highly under-developed as compared to the other emerging nations.
However, the only silver lining, as per the survey was that India enjoys a better ranking in quality of education at higher levels.
