Windows Mobile 7 To Hit Market In 2011 | Windows Mobile 7 Screen Shots

Microsoft to introduce its next generation Mobile OS, Windows Mobile 7, to the rest of the world.  There was rumor floating on the Internet that Windows Mobile 7 might be launched in the market sometime later this year, but Microsoft officials, as well as their partners don't expect to see the new phone before 2011.

Representatives from Microsoft, as well as partners like HTC and NVIDIA, reportedly don't expect to see the new phone OS until Mobile World Congress next year. Till now, it has not been disclosed that what the facts to delay the commonly accepted schedule are. The delay has also impacted on smartphone manufacturers who are now claimed to be switching handset production towards Android OS based phones while they wait for Microsoft.

This is not the first delay in the operating system's history, so the rumor is at least plausible. Windows Mobile 7 was originally slated for debut in 2009, but various setbacks forced Microsoft to release version 6.5 instead.

And this time it's not just a "rumor" or a hope that the OS might actually be revealed, as we have some sort of official confirmation. Folks over at ZDNET have managed to catch up with the President of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, Robbie Bach, who has given a clear hint that the MWC wouldn't actually be Windows Mobile 7 free. Although a full-fledged launch might not happen, the MWC might give us the first glimpse of the OS at work.

Robbie Bach being a very lucky man has confirmed that he has "played with Windows Mobile 7" and said that the OS can "set the bar forward not in (just) an evolutionary way" and that this edition would be far more consumer friendly as compared to the more "business like" look of existing and earlier versions of Windows Mobile.

As of now, we are still unsure when the first Windows Mobile 7 handset will be released. What we know, however, is that it is set to happen this very year.
