Here is how to check the file system in Windows 7 for errors:
  • 1. Click the Start orb.
  • 2. Click Computer.
  • 3. An Explorer window will open and you will see your hard drive listed as Local Disk (C:).
  • 4. RIGHT-click on Local Disk (C:) and choose Properties.
  • 5. Click the Tools tab.
  • 6. In the Error-checking section, click the [ Check now... ] button.
  • 7. UN-check the [ ] Automatically fix file system errors checkbox.
It will tell you whether it has found any disk errors. If it does report errors, go through this process again and this time check the [ ] Automatically fix file system errors box in step 7. Please note that, you have to reboot your system to complete the check and repair operation.
