Steps To Capture A Screenshot In Windows 7

A screenshot (or screen shot), screen capture (or screencap), screen dump, screengrab (or screen grab), or print screen is an image taken by the computer to record the visible items displayed on the monitor, television, or another visual output device. Usually this is a digital image taken by the host operating system or software running on the computer, but it can also be a capture made by a camera or a device intercepting the video output of the display (such as a DVR).

Screenshots can be used to demonstrate a program, a particular problem a user might be having or generally when display output needs to be shown to others or archived.

Here are the steps for creating screen shot in Windows 7.The steps illustrated here are very similar to all windows operating system except the way how to save the file and which software u use to edit the image.
  1. Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard.
  2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter.
  3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save".
  4. The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot".
  5. Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click “Desktop” on the left pane and then click "Save".
