Fix The Calendar Gadget On Windows Sidebar

Gadgets put information and fun—like news, pictures, games, and the phases of the moon—right on your desktop.

In Windows Vista, gadgets were corralled in the Sidebar. Windows 7 sets them free on the screen, where you can move and resize them as you like. If you activate calendar gadget on windows 7 sidebar and when your calendar does not work on sidebar, what can one do to fix this problem.

Please proceed with the following support steps listed below:

Oepn an Elevated Command Prompt.  To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.

When you get the small window ensure the command prompt C:/ is displayed without any other wording (for example see the above screen shot). To do this type CD\ and press enter.

Type the following command and press ENTER:

imageregsvr32.exe vbscript.dll

image You should see the following message after running the command:

DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.

Exit the Windows Sidebar and re-open again. To exit the Windows Sidebar, right-click on the Windows Sidebar Notification icon and choose Exit. If that does not help, restart Windows and see if the Calendar Gadgets render correctly.

- Also, if necessary, please test this under an alternate user account.

Alternatively, If the issue started recently, I would suggest you to perform a system restore and check. Check the article mentioned below.
