Windows 7 makes everyday tasks faster and easier, to make our PC work the way we want it to, and to make it possible to do new things. And that's exactly what its doing. And actually, we have to make the most of the new 64 bit OS. Read More On Benefits Of Windows 7 64-bit Operating System. Still some of the older software's are not supported by the 64Bit Architecture.

In 64-bit versions of Windows, the WinTV-PVR-150 and WinTV-PVR-500 require the use of less than 4GB of memory. If your system has more than 4 GB of RAM, it is required to reduce the amount of RAM used.

Reducing the amount of RAM is not a good idea because all your software's then work only on lesser amount of RAM than the originally available RAM. And in general it is better to upgrade your hardware for better performance than to downgrade it to get your old devices work on it.

Now, we want to know if there a way to reduce the amount of RAM Windows 7 to (hopefully) work around the problem.

Before you try to reduce the amount of RAM, make sure you have installed and updated all driver for your machine, and make sure the drivers are supported by Windows 7. Also update BIOS to the latest version. If any of the device is incompatible with Windows 7, it will cause unexpected issue.

Here is the step by step instruction to reduce or adjust the size of RAM for the Windows 7 Operating System.
  • Make sure you logged in as administrator.
  • Type msconfig into the start search box and Press Enter
  • Select the boot tab there.
  • Select Advanced options.
  • Put a check in the maximum memory box and enter 4095MB. If you want to use the maximum memory available, you need to do the reverse of this.
  • Press Ok, and then Reboot
