Samsung Galaxy S Plus Pros And Cons

Samsung Galaxy S plus is nearly identical to the original Galaxy S, save for the different chipset, which packs a faster 1.4GHz processor. And lets also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Samsung Galaxy S plus which was actually an upgraded model from the original Samsung Galaxy S. With a clock speed of 1.4GHz, it could be up to 40% faster.

Samsung's bespoke Hummingbird chipset has been

swapped out for Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon. The "T" means it's a faster version of the vanilla MSM8255 chipset found in a good deal of Android phones. With a clock speed of 1.4GHz, it could be up to 40% faster. We'll see how they measure up though, as they have slightly different architectures.

Qualcomm's chipset comes with Adreno 205 graphics instead of the custom PowerVR SGX540 in the original Galaxy S. We expect a slight difference in graphics performance too. Also, the new battery can hold up to 10% of extra juice, for a total of 1650 mAh.

However, one can not say that the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S Plus are different. Watch the below Video on the User Interface of  Samsung Galaxy S Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S Pros And Cons
Key features
  • Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support
  • 14.4 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support
  • 4" 16M-color Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution, PenTile matrix
  • 1.4GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255T chipset
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 8GB internal storage, microSD slot (up to 32GB cards)
  • 5 MP autofocus camera with face, smile and blink detection
  • 720p HD video recording at 30fps
  • GPS with A-GPS connectivity; Digital compass
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor
  • Document editor and file manager come preinstalled
  • Swype predictive text input
  • Full Flash support for the web browser
Main disadvantages
  • No flash for the camera
  • No dedicated camera key
  • Fingerprint prone plastics
  • Virtually unchanged year-old design
  • Aderno 205 GPU is weaker than PowerVR SGX540 in the original
  • RAM is only 512 MB.
  • Battery power is just 1600 kind of capacity.
  • Only 8 GB of Internal Memory, Where as the original Galaxy S has 16GB.
Samsung is just changing all features without even doing

something on its shape or color. Paying High for different mobile does seem same for most of the people who look only the design and not what really matters in. Samsung really has to do something to differentiate the design for different models.

We were quite pleased with the original Galaxy S, but the bar has

been raised beyond reach by the new super flagship, the Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S Plus is a new and improved edition but one that will hardly make a big splash.
Samsung Galaxy S Plus

It's still a phone that can make a solid impression though. The 4" SuperAMOLED screen with WVGA resolution is a great performer to this day and at 9.9mm of thickness, the S Plus is a proud member of the sub-centimeter club. The flash which Samsung forgot in original galaxy S then again in galaxy SL and again the same mistake in this modified galaxy S Plus also at a heavy price.

And without flash it is impossible to take picture at dark environment. Would have been really near perfect for me if only it also has flash. These manufacturers really intentionally leave out on things just so they could add something up on their next upgraded units. They would never let you satisfied with whatever you have. Well, that's business. And it makes that there is just a difference of CPU in this upgraded mobile.

If it has a Camera Flash, This will be more favorite. But, in another way, it does support Adobe Flash, so we can now enjoy watching you tube and other such from Samsung Galaxy S Plus. And even the Original Galaxy S do support adobe flash after upgrading the OS to 2.2 Version. The CPU in Samsung Galaxy S Plus definitely is different from I9000 Galaxy S CPU, on Qualcomm data sheet this CPU "Snapdragon MSM 8255T" is original clock speed is 1.4 Ghz, not FROM 1.GHZ OVERCLOCK TO 1.4GHZ. Dual cores are better than single core overclocked processors as it enhances battery life and provide better fluidity of touch and response. Overclocked processors eat battery like anything.

With all put together nicely in Samsung Galaxy S Plus the question that raises in common people is, why RAM is only 512 MB why not 1GB. Plus why not 1900 or 2000 mah battery. Pretty surprised that all are going in for 1600 kind of capacity.

However, it is a Good News for all 4G users, as there is an increase in 4G Speed supported by Samsung Galaxy S Plus, The speed has now increased from 7.2 to 14.4. But, these 4G upgrade will not work for those whose Service provider do not support 4G. And what is the point of making Samsung Galaxy S Plus. We can buy the original Samsung galaxy S much cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S Plus According to Samsung, the reason they didn't put a flash in the galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S Plus was because they didn't want to increase the phones thickness.

But, if have a look at the galaxy S II, it has a flash for Camera and its 8.5mm thin. Almost 1.5mm thinner than the galaxy S Plus. It really looks strange about the statement from Samsung. To conclude, Samsung Galaxy S Plus is a great phone, a perfect solution that falls between a normal single core and your dual core. But its very hard for Samsung Galaxy S Plus to make a impression when the super flagship the Galaxy S II was out there. And at this situation one could only say that is is very hard for Samsung Galaxy S Plus to make a big splash.
